Our next event:
Eds & Ips DEF will be holding an online prayer meeting at 1.00 pm on Monday 4th December. Our prayer meetings last 30 minutes, and will focus on praying for mission and ministry throughout our Diocese.
A link to these meetings will be sent to those on our mailing list.
For centuries the Church ran an immersive discipleship training programme known as the Catechumenate. Many believe this was critical to the extraordinary growth of the Church in the context of the Roman Empire. At our Spring DEF meeting Mark will be exploring this, and asking what lessons we may need to re-learn in our own time. And he’ll be doing it over cheese and wine. There will be a great opportunity to get to know each other and to pray together as part of the evening.
Our Autumn meeting of the DEF is scheduled for Wednesday 22nd November, and will be held at St. John’s Elmswell, 7.30 - 9.00 pm. After General Synod we’ll be taking the opportunity to pray together, to reflect together, and to begin to process together. We’ll be making sure we are up to speed with what has happened, clear about what hasn’t happened, and considering CEEC’s statement and suggested provisions.
Date for your diary: 15th June 2024. The Eds & Ips DEF are partnering with the Diocesan Spirituality Group to host a day of Psalm Singing at St. Mary’s, Bungay. The singing of Psalms has long held a critical place in Anglican Worship, and is enjoying something of a revival of interest. Join us to discover how singing this ancient hymnbook of the Church can give voice to the breadth of Christian spiritual experience. No muscial or choral experience required!
